Course Description

You will learn to:

  • Develop an argument about the ‘power of art to change the world’ in an essay
  • Understand how meaning is conveyed in an artwork
  • Recognize and understand modernist architecture and design from 1900-1960, including Art Nouveau, Art Deco, the Bauhaus, Frank Lloyd Wright and Mies van der Rohe 
  • Think critically and analytically about art and design elements and principles
