Level 3 Mathematics with Calculus

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Dr D. Hofman.

You will learn to:

  • explore the world of all things trigonometry, looking at real-life modelling applications to the challenging identity proofs
  • investigate the concept of i, the square root of negative 1, and further our understanding of more complicated algebraic equations
  • develop further understanding of differential models for a range of functions beyond polynomials including logarithmic, exponential and trigonometric functions
  • optimise functions
  • model real life situations that involve rates
  • discover the concept of integration, and its relation to kinematics, radioactivity and hot cups of coffee

Recommended Prior Learning

This course requires students to have demonstrated strong algebraic and graphical skills in Year 12.
