Course Description

You will learn to:
• Identify and the significance of world regions and the impact that tourism has on them
• identify and describe work roles within the tourism sector and describe the skills, knowledge, personal attributes and personal presentation required
• locate and identify the significance of regions and countries to the world as tourism generating markets and host destinations
• demonstrate knowledge of an ‘origin-destination’ model of tourism and describe the nature of a New Zealand tourism business
• describe both inbound and domestic tourism in New Zealand in terms of the characteristics of a tourist destination
• describe the characteristics and needs of tourists by focusing on international tourists to New Zealand
• perform calculations unique to a tourism workplace
•demonstrate knowledge of the internet and tourism documents in the workplace
