Course Description

Art is about solving visual problems by experimenting and combining ideas, materials and techniques to produce individual interpretations of the problems posed. We live is a visual world and by becoming confident with solving visual problems we can be informed when making comment on our world.

Students are introduced to the idea of solving visual problems by using techniques of drawing. Students are asked to use line and tone to explain shape, tone and texture using graphite, ink, dye, paint and shellac. Shape, tone and texture will also be explored in print-making and sculpture.
