Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr B. Peel

Accounting gives you the tools to make real life financial decisions in a constantly changing and uncertain world. It includes the analysis of financial and non-financial information and communicating that information effectively to users and decision-makers.

Level 1 Accounting is not just about being an accountant, it will teach you the basic skills you need to manage your finances and that of a business now and in the future. It puts you in control.

Accounting requires numerical ability, but if you can add, subtract and calculate the odd percentage then you should be fine.

You will learn to:
• understand the rules of accounting
• make financial decisions
• process and prepare financial statements for a business, household and community group
• analyse the financial information of a business to determine how successful it is and what it needs to do to improve
