Level 1 Business Economics

11BEC
Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr B. Peel

Take your first steps into the world of economics, business and innovation. Does running your own business, selling products sound like what you would want to do in your class time? The profit you take home depends on how successful you are.

Add to that a solid grounding in all the basics of Economics – consumers, producers and the impact they have on the economy. Finally, what about looking at the most important recent events in New Zealand, analysing how they will impact the different sectors of the economy.

You will learn to:
• develop a business plan for a real business and sell products at Pakuranga Plaza
• develop marketing strategies for a new innovative product
• explain the wants and needs of consumers and the factors impacting on producers
• understand how major economic events impact on households, producers and the government
