Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mr B. Payne

You will learn to:
• work safely in an engineering workshop
• demonstrate basic knowledge of engineering workshop tools, processes, and fixed machine tools
• use basic engineering workshop tools and equipment and use basic workshop fixed machine tools

This will be achieved through tool use and knowledge and the manufacturing of a tool tray, modelling clamp, cold chisel and centre punch.
You will also investigate, design and build a simple product using engineering materials.
This will be achieved through the design and manufacture of a small framed corrugated iron art work suitable for a garden fence or a bedroom wall. etc


Recommended Prior Learning $20 – this will cover the materials cost of the achievement standard project undertaken as part of the course, however, any extra materials needed for complex or large artefacts produced for clients as a part of the evidence for assessment may need to be purchased separately
