Course Description

A course focusing on producing designs that are new and unique from researching and making quality products. The course providing the basis for Level 2 and 3 achievement standards courses for students who enjoy or are considering professional design careers, completing a university degree or other tertiary education pathway.
Note: Standards marked with contribute to the Level 1 Literacy assessment.

You will learn to:
• understand different aspects of design that need to be considered while designing products
• develop projects through undergoing technological practices
• use machinery and resources available safely and in the correct manner
• work safely in a workshop environment

Contributions and Equipment/Stationery

$45 – this will cover the materials cost of most of the projects undertaken as part of the course, however, any extra materials needed for complex or large artifacts produced for clients as a part of the evidence for assessment may need to be purchased separately
