Subject Selection for 2025

Getting Started with Online Course Selection


Deadlines

Students must complete their 2025 subject selection by 3pm on the following dates:

  • Current Y12     Friday 2nd August
  • Current Y11     Friday 2nd August
  • Current Y10     Friday 6th September
  • Current Y9       Friday 1st November

NB* Option selection will open a couple of weeks prior to the deadline, however, students can view and 'favourite' subjects now.


Getting Started with Online Course Selection

It's good to involve your parents in the course selection process.  Remember courses selected because "my mates are doing it” do you no good at all.  

It's also really important to talk to your teachers about your choices, especially when trying to determine the most suitable math, English and science courses. 

Your careers advisors can provide guidance and will meet with each of you after you have made your initial selection. Subject changes can be made during these individual interviews.

  • Current Y12s - interviews in weeks 4+5 of Term 3
  • Current Y11s - interviews in weeks 6+7 of Term 3
  • Current Y10s  - interviews in weeks 8+9 of Term 3

Please note our current Y9s will not have an individual careers interview, however, the careers team will be in Y9s classes during term four to deliver a Careers Education programme.

Next Steps

  1. Start by entering your intentions for 2025 under 'Leaving Destination'
  2. Confirm that you are intending to return before choosing your subjects
  3. Go to 'Learning Areas' to explore courses 
  4. Go to 'Courses I have Selected' to check and review your choices
  5. You can edit your choices right up until deadline (even if you have pressed 'complete')
  6. If you wish to make changes you must firstly delete your back-up course then make the changes before re-instating your back-up

Message from Ms Barton (DP in charge of Subject Selection):

  • Make sure that you understand the recommended prior learning for all your subjects. 
  • The school timetable is structured to give as many students as possible their option choices. This requires option selections to be made by the stated deadline.
  • Whether a particular course runs depends on staffing and sufficient student interest.  This is why we ask you to select a 'back-up' subject.
